iLight Singapore 2019: Why Green?

ALL NEWS

Why Green? is a sustainable art light installation designed by DP Architects director Mr Ng San Son and his team of young architects Bob Teo, Josiah Leong, Johann Lim, Jireh Lee, Theodore Goh and Shawn Teo in partnership with DP Lighting, DP Architects’ lighting specialist group. It was selected as one of 31 art light installations featured during i Light Singapore 2019 – Bicentennial Edition.

Inspired by nature and the theme of sustainability, Why Green? invites visitors to wander within an immersive environment that features white 3D-printed flowers inspired by Singapore’s landscape. The flowers represent a timeless catalogue of Singapore’s past and present, while offering a glimpse into what Singapore’s digital future might become.

i Light Singapore 2019 – Bicentennial Edition is curated to the theme “Bridges of Time” and delves into the topic of connectivity, while reflecting on Singapore’s history, growth and relationships with the world over the last 700 years. It also delivers an inspiring message of a sustainable future through its sustainable art light installations. The light festival will span Marina Bay as well as the historical areas of Civic District, Singapore River and Raffles Terrace at Fort Canning Park and held from 28 January 2019 to 24 February 2019.
