DP Architects Celebrates 56 Years with Birthday Party at Golden Mile Complex |

1st May was a significant day for all at DP Architects (DPA), marking 56 years of design excellence since its inception in 1967. It also coincided with 50 successful years of operation for the iconic Golden Mile Complex (GMC), which was designed by Design Partnership before it was re-established as DPA in 1975.
To commemorate this milestone in DPA’s history, the design practice celebrated DP56 on 28th April at GMC, gathering over 500 DPians. The event was graced by founder Mr Koh Seow Chuan, former Chairman Mr Chan Sui Him, and guests from Far East Organization (FEO) and Perennial Holdings. Archi-tours led by Docomomo Singapore offered guests insights into the architectural history of the beloved Singaporean landmark, and for many long-serving employees, a trip down memory lane as the DPA offices were once housed within its premises.
May will mark the closing of GMC’s door for conservation and redevelopment works, following its en bloc sale to a consortium comprising FEO, Perennial Holdings and Sino Land announced last year on 6th May. DPA is both honoured and excited to be a part of the team working on GMC’s redevelopment, 50 years after the inception of the original building, continuing the legacy of its founders, safeguarding our built heritage and furthering enhancing the socioeconomic value of this treasured development.
