In the third edition of Smart Green Summit and Awards, DP Architects’ directors Mr Chin Thoe Chong and Mr Frven Lim (UK) curated the panel sessions during the Design Segment and gave a keynote address, respectively. Held on 27th April in New Delhi, Mr Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Indian Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs was invited as guest of honour while Ms Martha Thorne, Executive Director of Pritzker Architecture Prize, delivered the keynote address.
The 2018 theme of the conference was Futurescope; and focused on topics related to futuristic sustainable building designs, smart technology, new building materials and policies that will redefine the built environment. Mr Manit Rastogi, founder of Morphogenesis co-curated the panel sessions during the Design Segment. Mr Rahul Kadri (IM Kadri Architects) and Mr Frven Lim (DP International UK) joined in as guests and discussed and shared insights into how design can provide creative and sustainable solutions for the challenges India faces today.
Mr Frven Lim, director of DP Architects’ London studio, DP International UK, was also a keynote speaker at the conference. He proposed design solutions for solving the housing challenges India faces; how socio-economic trends and other factors influence people’s way of life and their living needs; as well as the shifting models of house ownership and what future homes in 2022 might look like.
The Economic Times’ Smart Green Summit and Awards is an annual conference created in partnership with Saint-Gobain. Attended by leading architects and developers in the industry, it aims to recognise and reward people and firms that incorporate new ideas and techniques for sustainable, technology-driven and aesthetically appealing buildings.
