DP Architects (DPA) director Seah Chee Huang was recently named one of 40 creative stars under the age of 40 for his architectural achievements and contributions, in the recent 40 Under 40 2016 Awards organised by Perspective, Asia’s leading architecture and design magazine on 24 May.

The Awards honoured 40 talents from the fields of art, architecture, interior design, graphic design and new media, product design, and fashion and accessories, based on professional achievements, contributions to the industry, and potential for future development, growth and leadership. Consideration was also given to any awards won, participation in industry events at a speaker, panellist, or judge level (where applicable) and contributions to society.
Chee Huang has been with DPA for over 12 years and was appointed director two years ago. He was named one of Singapore Business Review’s 15 Greatest Young Modern Architects in Singapore in 2015. He has been involved in many award-winning projects, including the Singapore Sports Hub, which was named Best Sports Building of the Year and Best Future Leisure-Led Project at the World Architecture Festival in 2014 and 2013 respectively.
He completed his Master of Architecture at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2003, where he received top academic honours including the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) medal, and the Board of Architects (BOA) medal, and went on to become the top candidate in the 2006 BOA Professional Practice Examination. An active member of SIA since 2006, Seah has led various key events such as the Singapore Architectural Biennale in Sao Paulo, and chaired the organising committee for ArchiFest between 2009 and 2011. A council member since 2010, he currently serves as its second vice-president. Seah has served as an adjunct design tutor at the NUS’ Department of Architecture since 2006.
