Building Off-site with Creativity and Ingenuity

The Offsite Expo 2019, held at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, UK, is an event that hosts the leading UK and international offsite manufacturers and component suppliers. The Expo provides the ideal platform for construction professionals to engage with key industry contacts, network and acquire new knowledge.

As part of the Expo, the Offsite Summit showcases some of the most inspirational and ground-breaking offsite projects from around the world. The focus of the summit is on knowledge sharing and creating collaboration opportunities. In the summit’s Singapore & Australia Territory Session held on 24 September, DP director Frven Lim was invited to represent Singapore.

During the session, Frven highlighted a number of notable Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) projects by DP, both in Singapore and in the UK. He also shared about how the firm collaborates with various industry partners to further advance the knowledge and expertise in PPVC and push the boundaries for its applications.

Closing out his presentation, Frven put forth that PPVC and offsite manufacturing is a viable methodology that can apply for all types of building typologies with potential for modularity and innovative design solutions.
