Held on 30th July 2022 at the Singapore Botanic Gardens, the Landscape Design Challenge was organised as a part of the larger Singapore Garden Festival event, with both events organized by NParks. DP Green director and 1st Vice President of Singapore Institute of Landscape Architects (SILA) Yvonne Tan was invited to be part of the jury.
The theme of this year’s competition is “Botanical Fantasy”. Using their knowledge of landscape design and creativity, the 10 competing student teams from the various Institutes of Higher Learning across Singapore had four 4 hours to turn 10 plots of land – each nine-square metres in size – into a creative and unique garden.
Yvonne’s long experience in the field of landscape architecture was fruitful in contributing to the decision-making process to determine the final winners of the Challenge, recognising the efforts of these students and helping to nurture the next generation of landscape architects.
