In support of the National Library Board (NLB)’s recently launched National Reading Movement, DP Architects was featured in the 26 Jun edition of LianHe ZaoBao for spearheading a Read@Work initiative through a pop-store collaboration with Basheer Graphic Books. This event was part of DPA’s corporate pledging to NLB to encourage a vibrant reading and learning culture among staff, which saw an overwhelming turnout at the firm’s library premises.
DPA Library manager Nabila Alsagoff said that the idea behind the pop-up event was to “bring the books to the architects”, because they were often tied up in their busy work schedules and could not find time to browse and buy books. She added that there would be lunch time activities that would run in the next six months, such as a series of talks curated by NLB, pop-up book shops and a flea-market where proceeds would go towards charity.
DPA CEO Angelene Chan encouraged staff to maintain a good learning attitude to broaden their perspectives and ignite creativity, which are pertinent in the architectural industry.
