ORchard: A Stroll Between Valleys |
ALL NEWS |
As part of ‘The Futures of Our Pasts’ Festival, ORchard, a temporary art installation designed by Mr Lin Derong and his team, will be on display in front of Ngee Ann City in Orchard from 19th February to 14th March.
Built over with concrete and steel, Orchard Road’s physical terrain as a natural valley was flattened and hidden. The stream that used to flow in the area was diverted underground into a network of canals and retention tanks. ORchard unearths these layers of lesser known history by recreating Orchard Road’s natural terrain with pipes that emerge from underground. Visitors are invited to stroll through the ‘valley’ of pipes and peek through them to view artefacts of Orchard Road’s hidden natural and historical past.
