In recognition of their exceptional designs, DP Design’s F1 Paddock Club Singapore 2023, A Verdant Workplace and The Work Suite were awarded the Singapore Good Design (SG Mark) 2024. Organised by the Design Business Chamber Singapore, in partnership with the Japan Institute of Design Promotion that founded the prestigious Good Design Award (G Mark), the award celebrates designs that enrich both businesses and communities.
Featured at the 2023 Grand Prix held in Singapore, the F1 Paddock Club presents a luxurious and exclusive space to watch the night race. The design draws inspiration from the circuit’s topography, reflected in the circuit-inspired ceiling designs, bringing visitors on a seamless journey from the drop-off lobby into the Paddock Club. In the atrium, they are greeted by a towering three-storey LED wall with a captivating visual display synchronised with music and dynamic lighting, offering an immersive and engaging experience. In the suites, unparalleled panoramic views of the race are paired with ambient lighting and reflective ceilings. Host to five restaurants led by renowned international chefs, each individualised dining space incorporates design elements unique to the chef’s established branding and draws from the ambience of their international restaurants.
Both A Verdant Workplace and The Work Suite are co-working spaces that cater to new hybrid work arrangements, rethinking siloed work and promoting greater collaborations between teams.
Envisioning ‘a park within an office’, A Verdant Workplace leverages biophilic and wellbeing design strategies to create a collaborative and conducive work environment for employees. In place of traditional walls are planter boxes used for team zoning and demarcating spaces, while cascading planters at mid-level are used in high-volume spaces. Creating a connection with nature while indoors promotes employees’ wellbeing, further enhancing their productivity. A material palette of soothing timber tones complemented with champagne metal trims lining the walls further add to the comfortable and peaceful atmosphere in the office.
A hotel-inspired workspace, The Work Suite adds the warm and welcoming touch of hospitality to a corporate setting. This is reflected in the material choices, where upholstery and accents with floral patterns are paired with reflective metal finishes in champagne tones used for fixtures and details, and light timber elements further accentuating warmth. Across the three-storey office, spaces are divided into quadrants with the aim of creating hubs of collaboration and connectivity. Its human-centred design approach further carves out social spaces for employees to come together and interact, fostering inclusion, promoting mental wellbeing and enhancing productivity.
