At the recently concluded Singapore Interior Design Awards (SIDA) 2023, three DP Design projects bagged awards in their respective categories. Held annually, SIDA is a coveted interior design award in Singapore organised by the Society of Interior Designers Singapore. It recognises projects that exemplify design excellence and pioneering design strategies in the industry.
Parkway MediCentre attained the Bronze Award in the Best in Healthcare Design category. Housed within Woodleigh Mall, this ambulatory care centre houses a suite of healthcare services, including an urgent care centre, an executive health screening with a dedicated radiology department, a rehabilitation centre, specialist outpatient clinics and a pharmacy. The design seeks to capture the synergy and support the operations of integrated healthcare. A porous, open concept is thus, key to the design scheme; delivering a medical centre that optimises workflows without negating patient wellbeing and experience.
In the Best in Exhibition Design category, Blumiwave achieved the Bronze Award. Featured as one of the installations in i Light 2023, Blumiwave represents a reinterpretation of Blue Energy, a form of renewable energy harnessed from the wave energy of ocean waves.
It utilised folded nettings to form ‘mini wave’ modules strung together and attached on scaffolding; this material choice drew inspiration from construction sites, dispelling the notion that they are ‘ugly materials’. Through the imitation of crashing waves, weaving in different directions and heights, it offers a multi-dimensional experience for visitors.
Under the Best in Workspace Design ≥ 500SQM category, A Verdant Workplace won the Bronze Award. Conceived as ‘a park within an office’, the spatial design incorporates biophilic elements with natural wood and features curved forms and an open plan.
The outcome is a beautiful office space that speaks to employee wellbeing while creating a conducive environment of shared spaces for collaboration and private nooks for deep work.
