Uniquely London – Homes over Tracks; Homes on Bridges

ALL NEWS

From Singapore Homes to London HoTHoBs presents a unique case-study of Singapore’s Public Housing system juxtaposed against solving the housing shortage in London through the firm’s very own applied design-research project, HoTHoB (Homes over Tracks; Homes on Bridges).

Conducted by Frven Lim, director of DP Architects’ London Studio, the talk will provide insight on what 80% of world leaders visiting Singapore over the last three decades sought to understand about Singapore’s renowned affordable housing programme. This will broadly cover Public Housing as an identity of Singapore, the element of efficiency of the brick-and-mortar hardware systematically at play and the implementation of ‘software’ through highly complementary policies and other robust strategic decisions.

The second part of the lecture will present HoTHoB and its potentials. The firm’s London studio has been studying and understanding the housing crisis in London. While there is already much intense effort towards the various threads of potential solutions, the studio has unravelled another avenue adding to the array of solutions.

Frven will be speaking at two events, Curtins’ Podium Talk and the London Festival of Architecture in the morning and evening respectively. You may find more details below.
