Why Green? Wins at the International Architecture Awards 2020 |

Since 2004, The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, together with The European Center for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and Metropolitan Arts Press, have organised The International Architecture Awards to honour the best, significant new buildings, landscape architecture and planning projects designed and/or built around the world’s leading architects, landscape architects, and urban planners practicing nationally and internationally.
This year, Why Green? by DP Architects was awarded as one of three winners for the Display/Installations category.
Why Green? is an art installation that presents a range of white, three-dimensionally printed flowers to create a timeless catalogue of our present and history, while offering a glimpse into what our digital future could be. It was first put on display at the iLight Singapore festival in 2019. The different species of plants featured in Why Green? takes reference from those in Singapore Botanic Gardens and inspires the contemplation of nature all around us.
The award-winning design was conceptualised by DP director Mr Ng San Son and his team of young architects, Bob Teo, Josiah Leong, Johann Lim, Jireh Lee, Theodore Goh and Shawn Teo in partnership with DP Lighting, DP Architects’ lighting specialist arm.
The International Architecture Awards gives an important global overview of the current aesthetic direction of today’s commercial, corporate, institutional, and residential work to the real estate, banking, business, and corporate community, as well as to the press and general public worldwide.
