Envisioned as a one-stop weekend hang-out for SAFRA members and their families, SAFRA Choa Chu Kang Clubhouse (SAFRA@CCK) is the first SAFRA to be located within a park. Representing the exuberance and vivacity of nature within the surrounding neighbourhood, the building seeks to harmonize with the park through complementary design, injecting new life into existing park activities, reinvigorating social links and forging cohesion within and between communities.
Dedicated to improving the physical and mental wellbeing of nearby residents and its users, SAFRA@CCK offers multiple avenues for sports and fitness activities under its roof, such as a 6-lane Olympic lap pool, a gym on the highest elevation that affords views of the surrounding greenery, and a Wellness Street comprising of naturally ventilated green assemblage of wellness facilities that have multipurpose functions. A Green Boulevard is weaved into the clubhouse, sheltering and guiding users, acting as a green spine that enhances the building connection to nature. Sensitive to both the surrounding human and natural context, SAFRA@CCK empowers residents to forge greater connections with each other, while nurturing the wellbeing concerns of users.
Extensive use of natural elements synthesized with activity, SAFRA@CCK intends on creating a symphonic “green experience” through verdant boulevards, planters, green curtains, terraced and landscaped roofs. This interlace of nature with fitness programs blur conventional programmatic lines, representing DP Architects’ ability to integrate sustainable concerns with the humanistic elements, creating a clubhouse that uplifts the wellbeing of its users.
