Designed for today’s tech-savvy and value-conscious travellers, Yotel Singapore is a high-tech boutique hotel that offers affordable luxury within a futuristic setting.
The design concepts of YOTEL Singapore focus increasingly on generational consumer and technology trends, and the nuances in habits of specific geographical source markets. Local characteristics and design clues influence unique and tailored hospitality concepts to bring about creative and distinctive solutions.
YOTEL’s distinct design aesthetic is also inspired by first-class airline cabins and Japanese capsule hotels. Modern, sleek spaces are infused with an Asian influence that lends a textured look.
The interiors were designed with YOTEL Singapore’s corporate colour in mind and the team matched it with a cooler colour scheme such as dark wood laminates to blend with the warm purple tones. This distinctive colour scheme is uniform throughout the hotel and lends the spaces an air of affordable luxury in an exciting and state-of-the-art setting. The clarity of form, a blend of the corporate colour and a cool colour scheme, and placid linearity create an uncluttered silhouette that portrays qualities of timelessness and sophistication.
Despite the restriction that a typical room size of a cramped 12sqm area, the design team conceived a creative resolution. By working closely with the architects on the placement of shafts, toilets and adding volumetric height to a typical room, the team was able to bring about a surprising spaciousness to otherwise modest-sized rooms.
Through inventive designs, efficient planning and thorough consideration of the usage of materials, the design team cleverly combined innovative technology to transform a small hotel into something hip, neat, edgy and innovative. Retaining the element of comfort, YOTEL Singapore is designed with essential hotel facilities without hurting the pocket.
